About
functional mushrooms
Functional mushrooms are a group of mushrooms that are consumed primarily for their health benefits. These mushrooms contain many different compounds which contribute to their health benefits. For example, Lion's Mane can support brain activity, Reishi has been used to strengthen immunity, and Cordyceps have improved physical fitness. However, many of these compounds will not have any benefit if the mushroom is simply eaten. They need to be correctly extracted for your body to use them. This typically means a double extraction capturing both the water and alcohol-soluble compounds contained within the mushrooms. At Mycoday, we only use 100% organic double extracts made from the mushroom's fruiting body.
Lion's Mane
Lion's Mane, or Hericium erinaceus, is recognized for its potential neuroprotective and cognitive-enhancing properties. The mushroom provides support for brain health, memory, and concentration. Compounds within Lion's Mane may even stimulate nerve growth factor (NGF) production, contributing to the maintenance and regeneration of nerve cells and supporting overall cognitive function.
